Try setting it to 2.0 and passthrough, then go to NaviX and More Power movies as they are mostly 5.1 and see if it works. It even explains at the top why you set it to 2.0, the way its coded.
Good luck

Hi.
the frimware that i have is droidsticks 12/03/2015
In settings/sound/sound devices manager i have select Spdif passthrough.
With mx player or kodi WATCHING movie with dts sound and i have only stereo sound no TRUE 5.1
In stock frimware 4.1.2 this problem not exist

I use my HDMi set to passthrough on firmware 4.4.2 and in Kodi I have it set passthrough and 2.0 and the amp does the decoding to 5.1 and all good. But in android setting it just set to passthrough nothing else. It works and the amp get DD 5.1 on movies in NaviX.
Maybe droidsticks do something different with there boxes. I've got droidbox T8 and T8s all good.

Might be best to ask DroidSticks about the issue with their firmware, if not yet sorted.
