Please note this file was designed for the original DroidBOX T8 device. This device was based on the Amlogic S802 chipset. It is from March/April 2016 and is also available via the OTA Updater app on your DroidBOX device.

It should definitely not be used on a DroidBOX device other than the T8. If your device has OpenELEC or LibreELEC, you do not have a T8. If your model name includes an -S, Plus or Mini, this firmware is not for you.

It may be compatible with devices from other manufacturers, but we can not take responsibility for any damage done. You are welcome to try, however if your box does not boot up, it will be your responsibility.

Do not flash this file if you do not know which device you have.

If you are on a Mac, you may need to this first: https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31919091
Download https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihyIHZJ1-cdWMNros , https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihyDEPDFsxYcuTrgB and https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlRdlhGu3fjihx8vh2po8-hFdDp1

What to do:
  • Copy the factory_update_param.aml , recovery.img and the ZIP file (do not decompress it) to an SD memory card. If you find you are copying multiple files and folders, instead of one large ZIP file then please right click the download link at the top of this thread, and select Save As. You should now find you are downloading a ZIP, rather than opening the archive.
  • Turn your DroidBOX off and safely eject the card from your PC/Mac/other device, and insert the card in the DroidBOX's memory card slot
  • Holding down the Restore button on the right hand side (behind the USB sockets), press the power button once to turn on the DroidBOX. DO NOT LET GO OF THE RESTORE BUTTON YET.
  • Once you see the Android logo on screen with the animation, you can release the Restore button.

The first time you boot may take longer than usual. Once you can see the Android launcher homescreen, please leave the device alone for 20 minutes. Do not reboot or power off during this time. Applications continue to install in the background and if interrupted will not resume the next time you boot up.
