T8 kodi 16.1

Hoping someone could help or show me where I'm going wrong. Recently tried to update to kodi 17.1 which I couldn't do as T8 isn't compatible. I then tried to reinstall Kodi 16.1 which was working fine before only to be told that's not compatible now either!!
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, 16.1 runs fine on the T8, are you using a build in kodi and where did you download kodi from or is it the stock kodi for your box?

@Straff80 Kodi 17.1 is a Release Candidate. If you have another piece of hardware that can run Kodi 17 (as it will need Android 5 or later), I would stick with Kodi 17.0 - http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/kodi-17.0-Krypton-armeabi-v7a.apk

For your T8 (and the original T8-S model), Kodi 16.1 is the latest compatible version - http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/kodi-16.1-Jarvis-armeabi-v7a.apk

If you encounter problems installing 16.1 from that link, uninstall any version of Kodi on the device first. If it still gives troubles, pop over to our main website during office hours and we'll remote into the device.
