T8 Mini Update concern - please advise me

Ive been reading about updates here and there and Im getting conflicting stories. Can someone tell me if ther is an official T8 Mini update and if so - is it stable? Im not really wanting to use pins or factory reset etc as Im happy with it and Im only ever in Libreelec.
Hope this didnt sound too stupid.

On the t8 mini, the main change is an official android update from 5 lollipop to 6 marshmallow.
Nothing changed on Librelec afaik.
Works ok for me.
