Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor REquest Failed)

Hi Gang,

I have just received the necessary files from customer support to re-flash my X7 Ultimate.
I must say that the support team have been top notch...

Problem is when I press the reset button and plug it into the PC to enter flash mode
Windows 10 does not correctly identify the device.

In Device Manager the USB does show up but with this error:
Unknown USB device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

I have installed the drivers from the RK Release_DriverAssistant file that support sent me
using DriverInstall.exe with the error still showing
I have tried updating the drivers manually but windows always insists that :
"The best driver software for your device is already installed"

So that's my dilemma...

Any help would be MUCH appreciated - thanks

Re flashing box:

SDcard

Rom files on it

Booting into recovery mode

Installing the Rom

Done

*UPDATE*

I'm busy installing virtualbox to see if another version of windows will work

I will let you know how I get on...
