Updating DBMC Kodi

If you update "vanilla" kodi e.g. from the official kodi site , the update is seamless and retains all your existing addons and settings.

Does anyone know what happens with the DBMC version? I have 15 running on one box and 15.1 on another, both fresh installs. If I want to update 15 to 15.1 do I have to another fresh install or just run the apk when I've downloaded it?

You should be able to a dirty install/update from 15.0 to 15.1 assuming both DBMC (as in DroidBOX Media Centre) came from us! If you phone us up and ask for official advice, you'll probably be told to clear data first. As long as you're happy getting to Home screen>Two cogs (settings)>Other tab>More Settings button>Apps>DBMC>Clear Data then you can always revert to that if the dirty update results in less stability.
