VPN Manager with OpenVPN on LibreELEC 7.0.2

Hi

I recently ran the OTA update on my T8-S Plus DroidBOX which updated OpenELEC V.6 running kodi 15.2 to LibreELEC 7.0.2 running kodi 16.1 (Jarvis).

I used to have VPN with OpenELEC add-on and had configured PIA VPN. Since upgrading, the VPN with OpenELEC add-on doesn't work and I had to get the VPN Manager with OpenVPN add-on instead. However when watching a stream, the VPN connection drops and my stream cuts out.

Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences?

Any advice on how to get around this problem would be appreciated.

Also, do PIA's support team have a recommended alternative approach for Linux based devices using Kodi? If they recommend something else that works, I can add it to the post at https://droidbox.co.uk/how-to/using-a-vpn-in-openelec/

Hi, I did use the SEO Michael method. I've looked on the PIA website and can't find any information in regards to an alternative method for Linux based systems on Kodi. I will try upgrading the add-on and see if that works.

I have PIA on LibreElec working perfectly now after coming across this website.

It's similar to the SEO way (that I used on OpenElec but didn't work on LibreElec) but by installing the Zomboided repo you get the addon updates through and it works perfectly.

Excellent! Glad it's working.

One thing I have noticed is that the addon takes ages to update when one comes through (takes minutes rather than seconds like other addons) but if you just leave it to do it's thing it will be fine.
