Just watched a toptutorials vid on buffernig and he said you need at least 30m/ps to stream live! Ive done a speed test and im geting 27mbps ! Is that why I have buffering issues on live tv

Around 5/6 Mbps is usually good enough for live streaming, a bit more if the stream is HD. As I think we have told you before, the primary cause of buffering is host server contention. Nothing you can do about that other than find another source.

You will need to ask him palpatine.
All I can tell you is I was watching live football on my older t8 in the spare room over wifi on the weekend, measured at 8mbps and the stream was perfect with no buffering (I was careful with the source I selected).

I only use live streaming for sport - specifically football. I use Zem - 365sports, and Phoenix. If they don't work I search the usual places (sportsdevil etc) for sources, some more successful that others. With 365sports you often need to go to their website on the box browser and click "watch now" before returning to your Kodi session.

The one that comes with droidbox (ipvanish) is not free although it may have a trial period with reduced rates or free months.
