    Fed up!

When I purchased my T8s I specifically asked if there would be any new boxes available in the near future as I wasn't in a rush to get one and was told no the T8s will be the latest box for a long time to come. Yet literally just a few weeks after getting the 8Gb T8s, the 16Gb version was...

HDD regularly disconnecting itself under OpenElec

I did exactly that, even doing what Chris requested above and the last reply I got via email on the 2nd of April from Andrew stated that my email would be forwarded to Chris and he would get back to me on Monday. Unfortunately I haven't heard anything since.

    HDD no longer accessible

Since the last post I've had the unmount and mount issues occur a few times and physically removing the drive and then plugging it back in again has worked. This time however, with the new update installed, it has happened again and even removing the drive hasn't worked.

HDD regularly disconnecting itself under OpenElec

Mine has started playing up again, tried pulling the drive out and it didn't work. After booting in to android which I don't normally use in hope, the the OTA updater was showing an update so I updated and after rebooting the hdd was showing again in android. Then I booted into openelec and the...

    Using the Internal HD

Don't forget to format the hdd in openelec too first before you do anything else. The option is within the openelec settings.

Also, as far as I am aware, it is not possible to use the hdd to install apps on and this is something droidbox are working on for the lollipop update.

    Using the Internal HD

That second image of openelec confirms that your hard drive is NOT mounted. You need to unplug it and then plug it in again. It will show up as a HDD.

Not used filezilla for a while but surely you just right click on the directories and change file attributes? If you want a recursive change then you can also do chmod -R 777 your_directory_name in putty rather than doing chmod777 and then having to go back and doing it again every time you add...

    successfully removed device

It is not an overheating problem as the few times mine has done it, it has happened within a minute of turning the box on. I also have my box disconnected from the power socket when not in use and it doesn't help in fixing the problem either.

Mine has been doing this recently too, the only solution I have found that works is to unplug the hard drive physically and then plug it in again. Sounds strange but it's happened to me twice now and this is the only thing that worked.

    Using the Internal HD

The answer is in the above posts by malkie, it is all to do with folder permissions and I'm not sure why 8bitDev didn't mention it. It can be a little daunting for someone who is not used to using Putty but with a little bit of reading it really is quite simple.

    Kodi crashed

Thanks for trying to help, unfortunately mine is stuck on the Openelec logo so can't access anything. The clock is working fine strangely so don't know why the normal kodi screen isn't showing up.
