Ok after extensive testing using various sources for 2160p material I have found serious problems with droidbox T8 and 4k material. Anything 2160p encoded in x264 works perfectly, but any 2160p material encoded in x265 hevc, no matter what media players i have tested with (kodi/4k player/xbmc/vlc) they all get audio fine, but either the picture stays static/gets really pixelly as though it is unable to decode the video correctly or framerate drops to something silly like 1fps, is there a fix for this really annoying issue? Codec updates perhaps? All my media players are all up to date by the way, hardware issue or perhaps simply that none of the current players are properly HEVC capable yet? videos encoded with HEVC at 720p are fine as I assume are 1080p, 4k requires more grunt perhaps than the T8 has?
