cant I just update from image put onto micro sd card.do I have to update this firmware. i have an x7 with no label but model is rk31 sdk 4.2.2 kernel 3.0.36+

Yes if you have the image file put it on an sd card (formatted fat 32) and use the toothpick method (toothpick into reset take out power lead then back in still keeping toothpick depressed until screen comes on and update starts) good luck.

Ps. Your x7 can be updated to kitkat 4.4.2 f/w.

Hi,

Currently there is no firmware update available for X7 Box so don't try to update your Box with any image file as it may damage your Box.

ok thanks I will give it a miss until or if there is an update,the thread is a bit confusing as it says x7/x7 ultimate. I thought the ultimate was just more space
