The iMX6 had issues with Gotham (v13). Have you read of success stories of AmLogic based devices such as the iMX6 with v14?
Feel free to experiment, obviously. If you have the APK file you need on your SD card, then insert the card, open ES File Explorer and click on one of the links towards the top left. It should mentioned SD Card, and possibly external. Now navigate to the folder you put the APK in and click on it to open.
You may need to uninstall the older version of XBMC first - Android Settings>Apps>XBMC>Uninstall.
You'll not find that XBMC/Kodi include our Wizard with their software, so e-mail us ( [email protected] ) with the info mentioned here - http://www.droidboxforums.com/threads/what-to-include-if-you-need-to-e-mail-us.364/ and ask for the Gotham version of the Wizard and try installing it manually in Kodi. We don't offer support or guarantee compatibility with Kodi, but you can always re-install the original XBMC on your device, there is a thread on this in this area - https://droidboxforums.com/forums/imx6-android.9/
