I have read a great deal about caching to an external sd card but so far I have not been able to get it to work. Could someone please give me the exact path to the cache file on the normal droidsticks t8 spmc version as well as the path to a suitable external sd card and folder. I can then either use folder mount or add it to the advancedsettings.xml file. I am using a droidsticks T8 box and they are unable to help.

Assuming that DroidStick's firmware is similar, would the external memory card not be found at /storage/external_storage/sdcard1 ?
In terms of the location of the cache, it will depend whether you've got SPMC, XBMC or a Helix build of Kodi installed.
Check if something like /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.semperpax.spmc/ exists. The last part in italics will mention Kodi, XBMC or SPMC in the folder name. If you're using ES File Explorer, don't forget to turn on hidden files and folders (in the tools menu on the left) to see deeper into XBMC/etc's file structure.
