Hi

Don't know if this is a stupid question, but is there a way to use one of the usb ports to attach a wifi dongle to try and increase internet speed ??

Regards

Hi Joe

Thanks for your reply. I've tried homeplugs, but for some strange reason getting better speeds with wifi.

The main reason for the question is that I'm on 150+mb internet and same ethernet feed with another device gives 90mbps+ but imx6 only giving 20mbps but 24mbps with wifi(box performs well for streaming). Internet dongle giving 115mbps+.

Strange that wifi is stronger than wired.

Its mainly to see if speed can be increased when I have the potential with current connection ??

I've not come across this situation before, in terms of attempting to use an external WiFi dongle with Android devices.
OK, so my reading was:

From that, it seems possible that this will work, but it will depend if any drivers are cooked into the ROM. As to whether they are, we'll not likely get a fast/accurate response from the original firmware coder. If you've got a few friends with WiFi dongles, ask them if you can borrow it overnight. You might want to use something like http://droidboxforums.com/threads/wifi-analyzer.83/ to check there is any difference in the signal level.
