Hello friends!

My father in-law recently purchased a Droidbox T8 and I have been having a play around on it. I notice in the settings that there is a 'Remote Control' option, if it is turned on an IP appears next to it. I've tried connecting with a vnc based remote control (HippoLite/iOS) which I use to control my PC but I've had no luck.

Has anyone else had any luck with it or even know what its for?

Thanks in advance!

There is an Android based app, download and install https://www.dropbox.com/s/woqd3p2fy9qkxj8/RC_Client_PHONE.apk?dl=0 to an Android phone/tablet. I've never got it to autodiscover DroidBOX devices on the same network, but if you click the little pencil icon, then manually add in the IP address you saw on the T8, it works well.
I'm not sure which protocol it uses, might be worth having a sniff of the packets, you could see if there is an iOS based remote app that can send commands using the right protocol. Is AirSniff available for Macs, assuming you're all Apple?
