Kodi hangs/freezes on shutdown

Hi
Recently on several occassions when I try to shut KODI (16.1) down from the QUIT command it fails to shutdown and freezes or locks up......it looks like an addon is maybe having trouble shutting down?
Have reinstalled KODI and my backup but it doesnt seem to cure the problem
Any idea how I can identify the cause?

It could be worth checking through Koodi's logs to find the culprit - https://howtomediacenter.com/en/how-to-check-kodi-log-file/

I've had some installs in the past regularly take a few minutes to close Kodi down.
If the log file doesn't help, it could be a case of wiping Kodi, but rather than restore the backup, installing add-ons by hand one at a time (makes sense to start with the add-ons you use the most), and checking at which point shutdowns take longer.
