kodi/xbmc gone from home screen

So when the imx6 starts up and you get the home screen with "apps" "all apps" "online cinema" etc
It used to have one for XBMC but upon turning the box on today its gone.
I can go into all apps and see it and it opens that way but is a bit of a chore every time.
Anyway to get it back?

A long press on a app should create a shortcut to your homescreen

It depends on the launcher being used. Some have that functionality (those that are closest to a stock Android look).
If not, look for a + , a ± or Add button on the homescreen, or within groups of apps.

SS it is the stock, 3d launcher that was on the box in the beginning...cant really understand why it would dissapear from the front menu.

so trying Angela's method of a long press.
it lets me choose a shortcut directory of ;
Local Apps
Movieonline
Communication
Game

choosing any of the above doesnt bring xbmc back to the front menu.
