Make Android TV box as simple as TV

I got myself a MVR9 box with a Rii i8 keyboard.

All good so far, I installed Kodi and the Covenant add-on.

All that was OK for a quite IT savvy guy like me, but I want to let my place on AirBnb and I'm wondering if it's possible to configure this box to make it work like a standard TV where people would just use the remote and press channels numbers.

There are several android live tv apps (search the google play store) and many kodi addons carry live tv feeds. Some iptv addons and apps have tv guide type channel listings. Afaik none of them allow you to type the channel numbers in.
