Moving icons

Having a couple issues with my X7
Hopefully the first will be resolved soon and the other is I don't seem to be able to move icons.
I hover over the icon I want to move and press ok but am not taken to the launcher screen and trying to remove one from the launcher screen by hovering and clicking ok can't move it to the top.

Which launcher are you using?
If there is an "ADD" button to click towards the bottom of the apps with a shortcut on the launcher's homescreen, select that to untick any apps you want to remove the shortcut for.
If you're using the default Android-style launcher (that you might see on Android phones and tablets), and you're not having any luck using the VIP remote control, try temporarily using a normal USB mouse plugged into your X7.
