Parse error

Haven't used my box for some time as got T8v now but tried to use it in another room and needed to update Kodi
Not every time O try to load an apk I get Parse error!
I have done two factory resets and I still get this error - even trying to load it off an sd card that's been downloaded on a laptop!!
Any help is appreciated!!

Check your version of android. If 4.4.2 then you can only have kodi 16 or derivatives (e.g. dbmc up to 16.3). You need android 5 or higher to download kodi 17.
