RS97 custom firmware users guide for newbies

Hello all,

I am looking for some guidance.

I have successfully created a custom firmware sd card with CFW 1.2 and it works well in my V3 RS97

The problem: there is nothing on it - no apps, no emulators, no games - nothing.

I did some research and I found that I need to install the required files ( ipk files) using the included explorer. Those ipk files are then the emulators, games and other apps.

Now here comes my confusion: I found many ipk file collections and I found comments about some emulators working well, others not so well etc.

Is there a concise summary with details such as

- recommended utilities / apps are xxx.ipk, zzz.ipk and yyy.ipk
- to play GBA roms - use eee.ipk
- to play NES roms - use ttt.ipk
- to play MAME roms - use ddd.ipk
...


Or is it all trial and error?

Your best bet is to install all the emulators and see which ones work best for you. Some games may run better on one NES emulator than another for example.
