Hi all

Just got a droidbox and kinda new to this. Set it up and connected to wifi etc. installed xbmc as per manual this went all ok. When I then go into the app I can select video > add on etc this lists the channels I can then select and of the icons and the program's listed. What ever program I select I get audio but only grey and white lines vertically this then locks up the droidbox and no remote control works etc. I then need to power cycle. I have tried to remove and reinstall and it is the same. What am I doing wrong or is the box faulty from new. I have good internet speed and this is Bt infinity please can you help!

You're not doing anything wrong, nor is the hardware faulty. We discovered last night that the factory installed the wrong XBMC build on a batch of X7s, our sincere apologies.
If you follow the steps below, everything should then work properly. If you're not comfortable doing this, head to http://droidbox.co.uk and click on the chat widget in the bottom right corner, we can arrange remotely reconfiguring your device.

Steps required to reconfigure your device without our assistance:
  • Please turn on your device and then click on the Settings icon§
  • Select the last tab and click on More Settings
  • Click the Apps sub-menu, scroll down to and then select XBMC
  • Select the uninstall button and confirm you're certain
  • Once this process completes, return to the launcher's homescreen, and open the browser
  • Visit http://bit.ly/DBxOct2014 and when asked, select Browser then click on Just Once
  • After the download has completed, click on the notification area (bottom right corner), and select the entry confirming the download has completed
  • Click on the APK file listed, and confirm you want to install it
  • Once this has completed, the process is complete
  • If you have not run the DroidBOX Wizard in XBMC before, please visit https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/droidbox-wizard-update-oct-2014/ to learn more

§ If you have elected to use the Android launcher, rather than our custom launcher, please open the list of all installed Android applications, then scroll to and select Settings instead.
