Trouble syncing the date and time

We have a T8 and every time we turn it on for some reason it has the date as 1am 1st jan 1970 and can't seem to synch with the Internet.

The only way to get it working is set time and date manually.

I'm not sure why it's doing this or how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look in android - settings - system - date and time. Make sure "automatic date and time" is ticked.

A long time ago we had a similar issue on a RockChip based device. We ended up using something like ClockSync - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.org.amip.ClockSync&hl=en_GB to force the sync with a NTP server. However, as pointed out above, do check that Android's own built-in sync option is enabled for the time.
