Yes, you are quite right with regards to the manual setup.
Beside this box and a Shield i am "still" running a droidbox imx6 with android 4.2.2 running kodi Isengard.
I have that with very few add ons and it runs like a dream....for how much longer who knows?
I do like to play around with...
Some builds were from ares wizard and then i decided to fresh install (getting rid of ares wizard too) and try dedicated links for certain builds and it still happened.
Spent a few hours trying it out yesterday.
Oh it constantly lost the location for the weather app too.
Having the same problems here..
Would love to use DBMC (most recent installed) but ive thrown 7 builds at it now and it continually says its stopped working.
The same builds through the normal Kodi work fine so im not sure what the problem is.
As said, my droidbox keep failing.
Think im going to have to just thank the 2 years ive had out of it and put it to sleep.
Date keeps resetting upon every reboot and the wifi wont turn on...its like a failing battery in a pc.
Manually alter the date and try the wifi fix at the top of this...
Just a follow up.
As i said before, after downloading and installing the 3rd link on the droidbox blog nothing would install...tried any times.
Wookie is in the addons but when trying to fetch info from the web it just failed everytime.
So i tried the 4th link on that blog and everything...
Am i right in thinking these downloads are redundant now?
https://droidbox.co.uk/blog/kodi-xbmc-download/
Been using kodi 14 with the (now) redundant droidbox login software but have recently got
lots and lots of "broken" apps and "searches down" so decided to uninstall that kodi and d/l...
SS it is the stock, 3d launcher that was on the box in the beginning...cant really understand why it would dissapear from the front menu.
so trying Angela's method of a long press.
it lets me choose a shortcut directory of ;
Local Apps
Movieonline
Communication
Game
choosing any of the above...
So when the imx6 starts up and you get the home screen with "apps" "all apps" "online cinema" etc
It used to have one for XBMC but upon turning the box on today its gone.
I can go into all apps and see it and it opens that way but is a bit of a chore every time.
Anyway to get it back?
update..
Worked well last night..
Then, this morning ..problems id previously had before...
The date stays at 1970 as its done before....wifi turns off...
opening any program/app withing xbmc immediately throws you out of xbmc.
After turning off and on, i get the "welcome setup" screen as if its...
Jigger..
Thanks once again, im sure that blog post wouldnt come up when i clicked on it the last few times!
Anyway, as per those instructions
i changed the resolution in android settings to 1920x1080p 50Hz
but back in xbmc there was no option for 1080p at all so i assume it doesnt support it...
ok..
So thanks to the links..ive got everything running as before.
However still no HD links work at all.
I see a blog title with "Your model is set to 720p, your TV can handle 1080p?"
but the link is dead.
cheers for that Jigger
followed the steps and got back in but no xbmc now to run the droid box wizard...obvisouly because the steps tell you to wipe the box clean.
is there a link for the software that came with the box originally?.
edit...just seen a link on another post...will try that...
Hi.
Had an imx6 box around 13 months or so and very few problems with it thankfully.
However, when its switched on now it goes past the 2 droidbox splash screens but just stops
constantly on the silver "android" screen.
Ive tried the toothpick reset thing but it does exactly the same thing...
