Wrong IP address in the for a start. Changed that. So enabled PVR client, as soon as you click live TV enabled, it cuts off the PVR client and comes up with that disconnected error message.

That was a great way of getting into the settings, thanks - except the one setting not available is username and password! I actually haven't found out how to install an app onto the droidbox yet, sorry.

Answering my own question here but I think I've solved it. On the main screen, on the two cogs settings icon, go in and click on Display, then uncheck HDMI Auto Detection, click on HDMI Output setting mode and change it to 1080p.
